Matthew Schumaecker

Matthew Schumaecker, MD, is a cardiologist with more than twenty-five years of experience diagnosing and treating a broad range of cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, and congestive heart failure. He practices at Carilion Clinic Cardiology in Roanoke, Virginia, and holds a faculty appointment at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. His clinical focus encompasses general and noninvasive cardiology, with particular emphasis on cardiac imaging and the management of difficult-to-control hypertension. He is licensed in Virginia and Pennsylvania.

His subspecialty training includes nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology, and he has been involved in expanding cardiac PET imaging capabilities at Carilion Clinic.
