Brenda Eagan-Johnson, EdD

Brenda Eagan-Johnson, EdD, CBIST-AP, serves as the State Director of Pennsylvania's BrainSTEPS Brain Injury School Consulting Program, a statewide initiative focused on helping students with traumatic and acquired brain injuries return to and succeed in educational settings. Her work centers on the intersection of brain injury rehabilitation and school reintegration, with a particular focus on pediatric populations across the lifespan.

Her published research, appearing in journals such as the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, NeuroRehabilitation, and the Journal of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, addresses topics including return-to-learn protocols following concussion, factors that shape educational outcomes for students with traumatic brain injury, and the cognitive, social, and health functioning of children enrolled in formal brain injury support programs. She has also contributed to international research efforts, including work with the ENIGMA Consortium's intimate partner violence working group examining IPV-related head trauma.

Her affiliation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Division of Injury Prevention is reflected in co-authored NIH-indexed publications, and she holds certification as a Brain Injury Specialist Trainer and Advanced Practitioner (CBIST-AP).
